Eastside Shorty started in a garage with a promise from a dad to his youngest son. Our founder, David Timmons, is a 48‑year‑old father of seven in a blended family—four boys and three girls. He’s a Unionized Long Shoreman and professional driver with his CDL, and over the years he’s taught himself carpentry, engineering and welding. Those late nights learning how to build and fix things turned into the skills behind his latest invention. David already holds a U.S. patent for a tire device called “David’s Goliath.” Once approved, the Eastside Shorty design will be his second U.S. patent—a big milestone for a hands‑on builder who never stopped learning. The spark for Eastside Shorty came from his youngest child, Diezel. When Diezel asked, “Dad, can I have a motorcycle?” David decided to go one step further. Two years of sketching, cutting, welding and testing later, they had a patent‑pending custom mini bike that’s already won seven trophies—and counting. What started as a project for one kid has grown into a new kind of mini bike that lets riders of all ages feel like they’re on a full‑size custom bagger. We’re only getting started, and the future is bright. Now David’s innovation and passion for building can be shared with riders all over the world.
